This policy explains how DeskPet handles system activity signals, preferences, downloaded pet resources, and purchases.

Overview

DeskPet is a macOS desktop companion app. It does not require an account and does not include advertising.

Accessibility permission

DeskPet uses macOS Accessibility access to locate foreground app windows and notice mouse or keyboard activity so companions can respond and move with your workspace. It does not read or store typed text, key values, window contents, documents, or passwords.

Information stored on your Mac

DeskPet stores lightweight preferences, the selected companion, purchase entitlements, and activity timestamps used for optional care reminders. This information remains on your Mac except where Apple services process purchases or macOS synchronizes system-managed data.

Pet resources and network access

DeskPet may retrieve its pet catalog, previews, and animation packages from the developer's public content delivery repository. These requests may expose standard network information, such as your IP address, to the hosting provider. DeskPet does not upload your desktop contents with these requests.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. DeskPet reads transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock purchased companions or items, but it does not receive your full payment card details.

Analytics and data sharing

DeskPet does not require account registration.
DeskPet does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
DeskPet does not sell personal information.
DeskPet does not intentionally upload keys, typed text, window contents, or documents.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated if DeskPet adds online features or changes how information is handled. The effective date will be revised when material changes are published.
