DeskPet requires macOS 14 or later. Install the latest DeskPet and macOS updates available to you before troubleshooting.
Open the DeskPet menu bar item and choose Show Pet. If the companion still does not appear, quit and reopen DeskPet, then confirm that it is visible on the current desktop Space.
Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and enable DeskPet. If you changed this permission while the app was open, quit and reopen DeskPet.
Confirm that your Mac is online and that DeskPet can reach its pet resource repository. Close and reopen the DeskPet settings window to retry loading the catalog and previews.
Select the pet again after its download finishes. If the download failed, retry from the Pet Store and keep DeskPet open until installation completes.
Confirm that the Mac App Store uses the Apple Account that made the purchase, then reopen DeskPet while connected to the internet so StoreKit can refresh the entitlement.
Enable Open DeskPet at login in Settings. You can also verify DeskPet under System Settings > General > Login Items.
